For firms that want the right cases, not more calls

Law firm marketing for the moment the problem lands

Nobody looks for a solicitor out of curiosity. They look the day something happens, they look on a phone, and they instruct whoever answers first and sounds like they have done it before. We build for that moment.

No commitment and no lock-in. We reply within one working day.

«We have been working with Santiago on digital advertising campaigns for a while now and, honestly, he is one of those people it is a pleasure to work with. He inspires confidence from the off: straight with you, quick, and very clear about where things need to go. What has surprised us most is how he handles complex paid media campaigns without ever losing sight of the results. He gets the most out of Google Ads and Meta Ads, makes decisions based on the data, and always finds a way to get more out of the spend.»

What being invisible costs a firm

Legal work has an unusual shape: very few searches, enormous value per instruction. That means a firm can be nearly invisible online and not notice, because the cases it loses never make a sound.

Round numbers to show the shape of it. Not a client of ours.
Monthly searches for one practice area in your city

≈ 25
What one instruction is worth to you
You know this number

Multiply the two and you get what page two costs your firm every month. For most practice areas it is more than the entire marketing budget being argued about.

What we find on most law firm websites:

  • One page listing every practice area

Employment, family, property and criminal on a single “Services” page. Each of those is a different person with a different emergency, searching different words. One page answers none of them.

  • It is written for other lawyers

Statute references and professional language, aimed at a reader who is frightened and does not know the terminology. The firm that explains it plainly wins the call.

  • No phone number where a thumb can reach it

Legal enquiries are overwhelmingly phone calls from a mobile, made quickly. A number buried in a footer loses them.

  • Nothing about fees

The thing everyone wants to know and almost no firm addresses. Even a structure — fixed fee, hourly, conditional — removes the main reason someone does not ring.

  • Calls are not tracked

Since most enquiries arrive by phone, a firm measuring only form fills is blind to the majority of what its marketing produces.

Three things partners tell us

  1. “Our work comes from referrals. We do not need this.”

Referrals are the best source of instructions and they are also finite and ageing. The person who moves to your city, or whose usual contact has retired, searches. Being findable does not replace referral — it stops the referral network being your only source.

  2. “Advertising legal services feels wrong for a firm like ours.”

There is a version that would cheapen the firm, and we would not build it. There is another version — answering the question the client actually has, clearly and accurately — that reads as authority rather than advertising. The second one also performs better.

  3. “We want more enquiries.”

Usually you want fewer and better. Broad campaigns bring volume and most of it is unqualified, which burns fee-earner time. Aiming at specific practice areas produces fewer enquiries and far more instructions.

How we work with a firm

This is the same sequence we ran for melioabogados.com, where 86% of a year’s organic clicks landed in the final quarter.

  1. Measurement, calls included

Most legal enquiries are phone calls. Until those are tracked, nobody can say which practice area or channel is producing instructions, and the budget gets argued about on opinion.

  2. A page per practice area

Written for the person with the problem, not for another solicitor. What happens, how long it takes, what it is likely to cost, what they should do today. One page per area, per location where relevant.

  3. Local visibility

Google Business Profile with the practice areas listed, reviews requested properly, and directory consistency. For a firm competing in one city this often matters more than the website.

  4. Campaigns on the areas worth having

Paid search aimed at the practice areas with real value, not at the word “solicitor”. Narrow, specific, and switched off for the enquiries you do not want.

  5. Reporting in instructions, not clicks

Enquiries by practice area, cost per enquiry, and — where you can tell us — which converted. That last number changes where the budget goes.

What is included

Built for firms that want the right instructions rather than a busier phone.

  • Practice-area pages, written properly

One per area you want work in, in plain language, with fee structure addressed rather than avoided.

  • Google Business Profile and reviews

Worked fully, with a routine for asking at the point a matter closes well.

  • Campaigns on the areas with value

Narrow paid search, with negative keywords doing as much work as the keywords.

  • Call tracking

So the majority of your enquiries stop being invisible.

  • A monthly report by practice area

Which area produced what, at what cost, and what changed. One page.

It depends on how many practice areas and locations, and on the state of the site. You get the number in writing after the free audit, with no lock-in.

What we commit to, and why it is six months

After the audit we agree a written target: measured enquiries at six months, by practice area. If we do not reach it, we carry on without charging for the management until we do. At ninety days there is a checkpoint with the data in front of you and you can stop with no penalty.

Three conditions, and all three are on your side:

  • Measurement including call tracking goes in from day one.
  • We can publish the practice-area content on the dates we agree.
  • Someone answers enquiries the same working day.

Six months because legal search is slow and the volumes are small, so a quarter is not enough data to judge anything. Our own law firm case is a good illustration: it looked like nothing for nine months and then produced 86% of the year’s clicks in the final quarter.

Senior specialists, one strategy

Efecto Newton brings together senior specialists in SEO, paid advertising, analytics, web design, creative and video production. Each area is handled by someone who has done it for years, but every decision answers to the same strategy: bring in opportunities, turn them into enquiries, and measure which ones are actually making you money.

Your project does not get passed from one isolated department to the next, and it does not rest on one person trying to do the lot. The specialists share the same goals, the same numbers and the same priorities, so your rankings, your website, your campaigns and your reporting all pull in one direction.

Between them, the team has worked on projects for brands and institutions including the Cabildo de Tenerife (the island government), Danone, Diario Marca, Minor Hotels, Hays, Vans and Milanuncios.

Which firms this works for

It works well if

  • You have practice areas you actively want more of.
  • Someone answers the phone, or an answering service does.
  • You are willing to say something about fees.
  • You can wait six months before judging the search side.

It does not, if

  • You want volume rather than the right instructions.
  • Nobody has time to review content for accuracy. We will not publish legal content nobody at the firm has checked.
  • You expect guarantees about outcomes or rankings. Neither is ours to give.
  • You are looking for the cheapest supplier. There is always a cheaper one.

Frequently asked questions

Can you show a law firm you have actually done this for?

Yes. melioabogados.com: 162 clicks and 10,800 organic impressions, with 86% of the year’s clicks landing in the final three months — new website, measurement from day one, then SEO. The Search Console screenshot is published on our case studies page, which is more than most agencies will show you.

Is advertising legal services allowed?

Yes, within professional conduct rules that vary by jurisdiction — generally no guarantees about outcomes, no misleading comparisons, and clear identification of the firm. None of that stops you explaining clearly what you do and roughly what it costs, which is where the advantage is anyway.

We do not want more unqualified calls. Can you avoid that?

That is the main thing we design for. Volume comes from broad terms; the right instructions come from narrow ones plus a page that sets expectations about fees and process. A well-built legal campaign produces fewer enquiries than a badly built one and far more instructions.

Who writes the content?

We draft it and a fee-earner at your firm reviews it before anything is published. We will not put legal content live that nobody qualified has checked, and any agency that offers to is creating a risk you do not want.

How long does it take?

Paid search produces enquiries in the first weeks. Organic takes six months, sometimes longer, because legal search volumes are low and the competition is well established. If you need instructions this quarter, we will tell you to start with paid.

Do you work with firms outside Spain?

Yes. The mechanism — practice-area pages, local visibility, call tracking, narrow campaigns — is the same in any English-speaking market. What changes is the conduct rules, and we work to whichever apply to you.
