Social media for businesses whose customers are deciding what to do tomorrow

On this island a lot of buying decisions get made the night before, on a phone, by somebody on holiday. That changes what is worth posting and what is worth paying to promote. We run Instagram and Facebook, organic and paid, and we report bookings rather than likes.

No commitment, no lock-in, and the accounts stay yours.

«We trusted Efecto Newton with a full project: social media, SEO, web design and Google Ads campaigns. The result has been a complete change in our online presence. The website came out well made and easy to use, we improved our positions in search, and the campaigns are bringing in enquiries steadily. They coordinated the lot properly and we always knew where we stood.»

What an abandoned account is quietly doing to you

A social account that has not been posted to since last season is not neutral. People check it, see nothing recent, and assume you might be closed — particularly in a place where half the businesses are seasonal.

None of those people ever contact you, so none of them show up in any report. It is the cheapest loss in the business to fix and the easiest to never notice.

Why most social media spend here does nothing:

  • Posting for people who already know you

Your followers are largely past customers and friends. Posting to them is customer service, not marketing. Reaching people who have never heard of you means either content built to be shared or money behind it — usually both.

  • Nothing is measured, so nothing can be judged

Reach and likes are not customers. Without a tracked link, a promo code or a booking form that reports back, nobody can say whether social brought a single euro in. We fix that first, and sometimes the answer is uncomfortable.

  • One language, in a bilingual market

Captions in Spanish only, or English only, in a place where your audience is both. It is not about translating every post — it is about knowing which posts are for residents and which are for visitors, and writing each properly.

  • Beautiful photos of the wrong thing

Sunsets get likes. What gets bookings is the thing you sell, the price, and how to get it — shown by a person, not a stock image. The best-performing content we run is nearly always the least polished.

  • No seasonality in the plan

Tenerife has a rhythm: the northern European winter, Easter, August, the shoulder months. A content calendar that ignores it is publishing summer offers to an audience that is already home.

Three things we will tell you that most agencies will not

  1. “We need to post every day.”

You need to post consistently, which is a different thing. Three or four good posts a week beats daily filler, and one genuinely useful video beats ten. An account that posts twice a week for a year outperforms one that posts daily for a month and then stops.

  2. “Social media will replace being on Google.”

It will not. Somebody searching “restaurant Los Cristianos” is ready to book now; somebody scrolling Instagram is not. If your budget only covers one, it usually goes to search first — and we will tell you that even though it means selling you less.

  3. “We need more followers.”

You need more customers, and the two are barely related. A 2,000-follower account of people who live within ten kilometres is worth more than 20,000 followers scattered across the world. Buying followers actively harms you: the platform stops showing your posts to people who do not engage.

What we do

Five things, monthly, with the measurement wired in before the first post.

  1. A plan tied to your calendar

What you post depends on what you need filled and when. We plan around your quiet weeks, not around national awareness days.

  2. Content produced here

Photo and video shot on site, edited for vertical, in both languages where it makes sense. We have a production side to the agency, so this is not stock footage with your logo on it.

  3. Paid social where it pays

Meta ads aimed at people physically on the island, or about to be, with the offer clear in the first two seconds. Reported as cost per booking, not cost per thousand impressions.

  4. Replies, and the ones that matter

Comments and DMs answered in the right language, within hours. On social a slow reply is a lost booking, and a lot of businesses lose enquiries in an unopened inbox.

  5. One page of reporting a month

What we posted, what it reached, what it cost, what came in. In English. If a month was bad, it says so.

What you get every month

And, as importantly, what stays yours.

  • A month of content, planned and published

Posts, stories and reels in the right language for each audience, on a calendar you approve in advance and can change.

  • A shoot on site

We come to you and film. Real staff, real product, real premises. This is the single biggest difference between accounts that work and accounts that do not.

  • Paid campaigns, tracked

Meta ads with the pixel set up properly and conversions counted, so you can see cost per enquiry and not just reach.

  • The accounts stay yours

Your Business Manager, your pages, your pixel, your audiences. We are users on them. Agencies that build your pixel data inside their own account are keeping something you paid for.

What it costs depends on how much content you need a month and whether we are filming. Ad spend goes to Meta directly and separately. Price in writing after the free review, with no lock-in.

What we commit to, and what we will not pretend

We commit to a fixed amount of content a month, published on the agreed dates, and to reporting what it brought in rather than what it reached. If after ninety days we cannot connect the work to enquiries, bookings or covers, we will tell you and recommend putting the money somewhere else.

Three conditions, and all three are on your side:

  • We can film on your premises, with your people, a few times a year.
  • Someone approves the calendar within a few days, rather than a few weeks.
  • Messages and comments get answered — by us, by you, or both, but answered.

What we will not promise is a follower count, because it is the wrong target and it is easy to fake. Any agency that guarantees you followers is either buying them or counting on you not checking.

Senior specialists, one strategy

Efecto Newton brings together senior specialists in SEO, paid advertising, analytics, web design, creative and video production. Each area is handled by someone who has done it for years, but every decision answers to the same strategy: bring in opportunities, turn them into enquiries, and measure which ones are actually making you money.

Your project does not get passed from one isolated department to the next, and it does not rest on one person trying to do the lot. The specialists share the same goals, the same numbers and the same priorities, so your rankings, your website, your campaigns and your reporting all pull in one direction.

Between them, the team has worked on projects for brands and institutions including the Cabildo de Tenerife (the island government), Danone, Diario Marca, Minor Hotels, Hays, Vans and Milanuncios.

Whether this is for you

It works well if

  • People decide about your business visually — food, a view, an experience, a space, a result.
  • Your customers are on the island now, or about to be.
  • Somebody at your end is willing to be on camera occasionally.
  • You can answer a DM within a few hours during the season.

It does not, if

  • Your customers only find you when they are actively searching. Put the money into Google first.
  • Nobody can be filmed and nobody can approve anything. There is a limit to what we can do from the outside.
  • You want followers rather than bookings. We are the wrong agency for that and we will say so.
  • You want organic only, with no budget, and results this season. One or the other, not both.

Frequently asked questions

How often should we post?

Less than you think, better than you are. Three or four good posts a week beats daily filler, and one genuinely useful video beats ten. Consistency matters more than volume: an account that posts twice a week for a year outperforms one that posts daily for a month and then stops.

Instagram, Facebook or TikTok?

For hospitality, activities and holiday lets in Tenerife: Instagram first, Facebook alongside it because the resident audience here genuinely still uses it, and TikTok only if you can commit to volume. We will tell you which two to do properly rather than spread you across four.

Do we need to be in the videos?

It helps a lot, and it is the single biggest difference between accounts that work and accounts that do not. A person talking about what they do outperforms polished brand content almost every time. If you would rather not, we can work around it, but we will tell you what it costs you.

Can you write captions in English and Spanish?

Yes, and we decide per post which language it should be in rather than translating everything. A post aimed at visitors deciding tonight and a post aimed at residents are two different posts, not one post in two languages.

How much should we put behind ads?

Enough to reach a meaningful number of people in your area, which for a local business in the south is usually modest. We work it out from what a booking is worth to you and tell you the number in the free review. Too small a budget is worse than none — it spends just enough to be untestable.

Will you reply to bad reviews and comments?

Yes, and there is a right way to do it. A calm, specific, non-defensive reply in the reviewer’s own language does more for the people reading it later than it does for the reviewer. We draft it and you approve anything sensitive before it goes out.
